Hi, I’m Hanna. I’m a freelance journalist with an interest in covering the environment, global affairs, and human rights. I’ve been published in The World, The Globe and Mail, Mongabay, WIRED, Canada’s National Observer, Capital Daily, Open Canada, and more.
I have a Master’s of Journalism from the University of British Columbia, where I was awarded the Susan M. Boyce Graduate Scholarship for feature writing. I was a Global Reporting Program Fellow, which took me on a reporting trip to Cambodia, where I reported and produced a multi-media feature on land evictions.
Before graduate school, I lived, worked, and studied in Mexico, Ghana, and Jordan. I have a Bachelor of Environmental Studies from the University of Waterloo, where I majored in international development and minored in political science.
In my free time I’m enjoying the outdoors, reading a good book, or exploring a new place.
